This study tested a new treatment for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
The drug was given as an injection under the skin and was already approved for patients with severe asthma.
The purpose of this study was to see if the study drug could help control COPD symptoms more effectively than using COPD inhaled medications alone. Participants continued to take their existing inhaled medications.
